Dermal fillers do not always degrade uniformly over time, and occasionally treatment outcomes fall short of expectations. Product migration, persistent asymmetry, or localized tissue firmness can occur when filler spreads beyond original boundaries or when excessive volume has accumulated across previous sessions elsewhere. Evaluating and correcting these concerns requires anatomical patience and a structured approach.

During your consultation in Central Leeds, Mona conducts a careful tactile and visual evaluation. We discuss your product history, treatment dates, and any uncertainty you may feel about the best next step for your features. Sometimes the most appropriate advice is simply to allow hyaluronic acid filler to metabolize naturally without intervention. In other situations where migrated product compromises lip borders, midface contours, or creates visible lumpiness, targeted correction or prescription hyaluronidase dissolving may be indicated.

If dissolving is selected as the safest pathway, a patch test is performed first. Following enzyme administration, mild swelling and temporary tissue softening occur over 24 to 48 hours. We require a minimum resting window of two weeks before any new volumisation is even considered, ensuring your tissues have fully returned to baseline.

What happens during a correction and assessment consultation?

Mona examines the area of concern using gentle palpation and visual analysis to evaluate product integration, anatomical placement, migration, and tissue symmetry before discussing potential options.

Can migrated or lumpy filler always be dissolved?

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can generally be dissolved using prescription hyaluronidase enzyme. Non-hyaluronic acid permanent fillers cannot be dissolved this way, which is why product history is evaluated carefully.

Is hyaluronidase dissolving safe?

Hyaluronidase is a prescription medical treatment. A patch test is conducted prior to administration to check for rare hypersensitivity reactions.

How soon after dissolving can new filler be placed?

We recommend waiting at least two weeks after hyaluronidase treatment. This allows enzyme activity to resolve, natural tissue to rehydrate, and swelling to fully settle before re-evaluating.

Will my natural tissue look empty after dissolving?

When filler dissolves, tissue returns toward its baseline structure. Temporary mild dehydration occurs as hyaluronidase breaks down local hyaluronic acid, settling over 7 to 14 days.
